First Trust RiverFront Dynamic Developed International ETF is an exchange-traded fund sponsored by First Trust Advisors L.P. and established in 2016, with operations centered in Wheaton, Illinois, through First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund III. The fund is now positioned as the First Trust Active Factor International ETF following its September 14, 2026 conversion from the prior RiverFront-branded strategy and ticker change to AFDM. It seeks capital appreciation through active management in international developed equity markets and, under its new structure, invests at least 80% of net assets in equity securities of developed market companies listed on U.S. and non-U.S. exchanges, including common stock and depositary receipts such as ADRs, EDRs, CDRs and GDRs. The fund’s investment process now uses a multi-factor quantitative methodology emphasizing value, momentum, quality and low volatility, replacing the prior dynamic developed international approach that could hedge currency exposure. First Trust reduced the annual unitary management fee from 0.83% to 0.80%, and portfolio oversight now rests with the First Trust Investment Committee without a sub-advisor. The ETF primarily targets investors seeking diversified exposure to developed international equities and is distributed through First Trust’s ETF platform, with the strategy change representing the fund’s most significant recent restructuring.
