Business
Allied Healthcare Products, Inc. historically manufactured and distributed a broad spectrum of medical devices for the healthcare sector, serving hospitals, alternative care environments, and emergency services worldwide. The extensive product range included respiratory care and anesthesia equipment, encompassing air compressors, calibration tools, humidifiers, specialized tents for croup, and drying units for equipment. This division also offered disposable respiratory items such as oxygen tubing, face masks, cannulas, and ventilator circuits. The company also provided comprehensive home respiratory care products, featuring lightweight aluminum oxygen cylinders, precision oxygen regulators, pneumatic nebulizers under brands like Schuco, portable suction devices (including Gomco and Schuco models), and a full array of related disposable products. Within medical gas equipment, offerings included construction components like in-wall medical system elements, central station pumps and compressors, and integrated headwalls for patient rooms. The portfolio further extended to regulation and suction apparatus such as flowmeters, vacuum regulators, and pressure regulators from brands like Chemetron and Timeter, along with essential adapters, fittings, and hoses designed to measure, control, monitor, and deliver medical gases from wall-mounted systems or portable equipment to patients. Disposable oxygen cylinders from Lif-O-Gen were also available for short-duration oxygen supply. Furthermore, the company developed emergency medical products, which comprised respiratory and resuscitation solutions like demand resuscitation valves, portable resuscitation systems, bag masks and associated items, specialized emergency transport ventilators, and precise oxygen regulators. Trauma and patient handling products were also part of this segment, featuring spine immobilization devices, pneumatic anti-shock garments, and trauma burn kits. These products were marketed to a diverse clientele including hospitals, medical equipment dealers, hospital construction contractors, home health care providers, and emergency medical product distributors. Allied Healthcare Products, Inc. was founded in 1979 and maintained its headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. However, in May 2023, the company initiated voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings to facilitate a value-maximizing asset sale, with the plan approved for liquidation in January 2024. Subsequently, in November 2023, Allied Medical LLC, a newly established U.S. subsidiary of the Flexicare group of companies, acquired the core assets of Allied Healthcare Products Inc., ensuring the continuity of these product lines and well-known brands such as Chemetron, Gomco, Lif-O-Gen, Timeter, Schuco, Vacutron, B&F Medical, Carbolime, and LithoLyme under new ownership. The former Allied Healthcare Products, Inc. has since been delisted.
