- Alviva Holdings Limited is an investment holding company that provides information and communication technology (ICT) products and services in South Africa, the rest of Africa, and internationally. It operates through three segments: ICT Distribution, which imports, assembles, and sells hardware and software products including PCs, laptops, servers, peripherals, and related software through reseller channels and retail chains in sub-Saharan African markets; Services and Solutions, which offers systems integration, ICT solutions such as cybersecurity, application development, artificial intelligence, and renewable energy projects; and Financial Services, which provides finance solutions to small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMME) and commercial sectors principally for office automation and technology-based equipment. The company maintains operational branches across major South African centers including Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein, and Nelspruit, as well as in Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, with an extensive reseller network extending its geographic footprint. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, Alviva was formerly known as Pinnacle Holdings Limited before changing its name in March 2017. Recent major changes include the completion of the acquisition of Tarsus Technology Group in March 2022 for ZAR 190 million to bolster its ICT offerings, the sale of Datacentrix Holdings Limited to Convergence Partners Digital Infrastructure Fund in January 2024, and a takeover by a consortium of investors including Tham Investments Proprietary Limited and key management who acquired the remaining 81.4% stake in February 2023, resulting in its delisting from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
