Business
Amada Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based manufacturer specializing in metal processing equipment and machine tools. The company produces a comprehensive range of products including sheet metal fabrication machines (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding), metal cutting machines (circular saws, band saws), structural steel machines for cutting and drilling steel frameworks, grinding machines for surface finishing, micro welders (laser and spot welders), and spring-forming machines. It also provides custom large press machines and automation systems to meet industrial needs. Amada serves various industries such as automotive, computer, camera, and electrical appliances, operating globally with a headquarters in Isehara, Kanagawa, Japan. Founded in 1946, the company also offers advanced software solutions to optimize production processes through robotics, AI, IoT, and system integration. Recent major changes include the acquisition of H&F Corporation, a comprehensive press manufacturer, completed in May 2025, which expands Amada's press automation solutions and strengthens its metalworking industry presence. In April 2025, Amada acquired Via Mechanics, a leading manufacturer of PCB drilling machines, to broaden its portfolio within the semiconductor industry and accelerate development of new laser machining technologies. In early 2025, Amada launched several new machines including the LM-26A 15-axis CNC torsion spring machine, WH-2A 13-axis CNC dual-point coiling machine, WS-700VP structural steel drilling and band saw combined production machine, and the PCSAW-430AXII variable pulse cutting band saw machine. These product launches reflect Amada’s focus on innovation and automation in metal processing technology. Amada continuously expands its geographical operations with subsidiaries and strategic expansions in Europe, including the integration of AMADA Automation Europe, formerly LKI Kaldman, enhancing its automation and robotic bending solutions. The company prioritizes total metalworking solutions, combining hardware, software, and automation to meet evolving industrial demands worldwide. These efforts align with its strategy to advance precision manufacturing and support a wide range of manufacturing sectors.
