Anadigics Inc. was a semiconductor company that specialized in developing radio frequency (RF) solutions for the broadband wireless and wireline communications sectors. Established in 1985, the firm manufactured a range of integrated circuits, including power amplifiers, front-end modules, and other RF components, primarily utilizing gallium arsenide (GaAs) technology. These products were designed to enhance performance for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) in markets such as cellular, WiFi, small-cell, and CATV infrastructure, enabling improved system efficiency, reduced size, and extended battery life for devices like mobile handsets and datacards. Anadigics Inc. was acquired by II-VI Incorporated in March 2016, leading to its delisting from Nasdaq. Following the acquisition, II-VI Incorporated, now Coherent Corp., sold off some of Anadigics' RF assets while retaining its advanced GaAs fabrication facility for the production of optoelectronic components.
