Business
Australian Agricultural Company Limited (AACo) is Australia's largest integrated cattle and beef producer, specializing in the breeding, backgrounding, feedlotting, and trading of cattle; ownership, operation, and development of pastoral properties; and distribution of branded beef products into global markets. Founded in 1824 and headquartered in Newstead, Queensland, the company manages approximately 456,000 head of cattle across 6.5 million hectares of land in Queensland and the Northern Territory, including 19 owned cattle stations, four leased stations, two owned feedlots, two owned farms, and one leased farm; it operates the Livingstone Beef processing facility near Darwin and offers premium grain-fed and Wagyu beef under brands such as Westholme, Darling Downs, Wylarah, and 1824, targeting major international markets in 16 countries. Subsidiaries include A. A. Company Pty Ltd, Austcattle Holdings Pty Ltd, A. A. & P. Joint Holdings Pty Ltd, Shillong Pty Ltd, and James McLeish Estates Pty Limited. In 2025, AACo refreshes its strategic focus on three pillars—better beef through premium cattle programs, partnering and investing for growth, and unlocking land value via initiatives like its first registered soil carbon project—while reinvesting over $31 million in infrastructure, fleet upgrades, connectivity, and sustainability enhancements instead of paying a dividend.
