Business
Boab Metals Limited Boab Metals Limited (ASX: BML) is an Australia-based base and precious metals exploration and development company focused on advancing mineral projects primarily in Western Australia. The company holds a 75% interest in its flagship Sorby Hills Project, Australia’s largest undeveloped near-surface lead-silver deposit located 50 kilometers northeast of Kununurra in the East Kimberley region, featuring granted mining leases, environmental protection authority approval, and proximity to Wyndham Port for export; it also wholly owns the adjacent Manbarrum and Eight Mile Creek exploration prospects targeting zinc, silver, cobalt, copper, and lead deposits, with additional historical interests in South America including Colombia. Founded in 2003 and headquartered at 4 Clive Street in West Perth, Western Australia, Boab Metals changed its name from Pacifico Minerals Limited in January 2021 to reflect its strategic focus on base metals development. Recent developments include a December 2024 binding offtake agreement with Trafigura for 75% of Sorby Hills lead-silver concentrate production totaling at least 531,000 tonnes over seven years, accompanied by a US$30 million prepayment facility; acquisition of Sandfire Resources' DeGrussa Processing Plant for A$10 million to reduce capital costs and accelerate timelines; and extension of its option until December 31, 2025, to acquire the remaining 25% interest in Sorby Hills from Henan Yuguang (Australia) Pty Ltd for full ownership ahead of a targeted final investment decision in late 2025.
