Business
Neuren Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX:NEU), an Australia-based biopharmaceutical company founded in 1997 and headquartered in Hawthorn East, Victoria, develops therapies for neurodevelopmental disorders that emerge in early childhood, including Rett syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Pitt Hopkins syndrome and Prader-Willi syndrome. The company offers DAYBUE (trofinetide, NNZ-2566), approved by the US FDA in March 2023 for the treatment of Rett syndrome in adults and pediatric patients aged two years and older and commercialized worldwide by partner Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc under exclusive license; and NNZ-2591, an investigational drug in Phase 2 clinical trials for Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Angelman syndrome, Pitt Hopkins syndrome and Prader-Willi syndrome, with Acadia holding rights for Rett and Fragile X indications while Neuren retains rights for all other indications. DAYBUE generates royalty income for Neuren, with Q3 2025 net sales reported at US$101.1 million, up 11% from Q3 2024, reflecting robust US market penetration and community setting expansion, alongside H1 2025 profit after tax of A$15 million. NNZ-2591 programs carry orphan drug designations from the FDA and EMA, supporting accelerated development pathways, while Neuren advances named patient supply programs and awaits European regulatory opinions for DAYBUE.
