VRX Silica Limited (ASX:VRX) explores and develops silica sand projects in Western Australia to supply global demand for high-purity silica sand used in glass manufacturing, solar panels, concrete and high-tech applications; its portfolio includes the Arrowsmith North Silica Sand Project, Arrowsmith Brand Silica Sand Project, Arrowsmith Central Silica Sand Project (all located 270km north of Perth), Muchea Silica Sand Project (50km north of Perth) and Boyatup Silica Sand Project (100km east of Esperance), with bankable feasibility studies supporting over 25 years of production at Arrowsmith North, Central and Muchea and potential for more than 100 years across the projects; the company owns 100% interests in these deposits grading 99.6-99.9% silica. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in West Perth, Australia, VRX Silica formerly operated as Ventnor Resources Limited until its name change in December 2018; the projects benefit from proximity to rail lines connecting to ports at Geraldton, Kwinana and Esperance for export to Asian markets including South Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines. In 2025, VRX Silica secured government approvals including environmental clearance from the Environmental Protection Authority in June, mining proposal approval from the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration in August, and works approval in September for Arrowsmith North, enabling transition to construction; the company executed four binding offtake contracts in October for 410,000 tonnes per annum of silica sand from Arrowsmith North with customers in South Korea (two foundry suppliers), Taiwan (glassmaking and filter media supplier) and the Philippines (glass manufacturer), representing nearly half of initial 1Mtpa capacity with plans to ramp to 2Mtpa; additionally, VRX raised A$2.1 million in November through a two-tranche placement to sophisticated and institutional investors led by Unified Capital Partners to fund pre-construction activities including surveys, engineering design and long-lead items ahead of a final investment decision and first production targeted for late 2026.
