Axis Bank Limited is an Indian multinational banking and financial services company founded in 1993 and headquartered in Mumbai, India. It operates as the third largest private bank in India with a broad spectrum of core products and services including retail banking; business and corporate banking; treasury management; loans across categories such as home, personal, business, commercial vehicle, education, and gold loans; deposits including savings and current accounts; credit and debit card services; payment acceptance solutions like Point of Sale (PoS) terminals and QR-based payments; trade and forex services; cash management; structured finance; and digital banking services inclusive of Internet and mobile banking platforms. Axis Bank also provides specialized services for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and caters to diverse customer segments in India and has operations extending to 11 countries with a network of over 3,700 branches domestically. Recent major changes include significant investments in digital transformation highlighted by an INR 2,000 crore allocation towards technology initiatives in 2024 aimed at enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency through AI and emerging technologies such as generative AI. The bank has strengthened its presence with the addition of 500 new branches in 2024, supporting its Bharat Banking strategy targeted at deepening reach in underserved regions. Axis Bank continues to emphasize sustainability and ESG integration, with expanded financing in renewable energy and commitments to operational excellence and compliance culture. The bank has also enhanced its product offerings with innovative payment acceptance services and expanded its treasury and correspondent banking capabilities.
