Business
Três Tentos Agroindustrial S/A operates as a vertically integrated agribusiness company in Brazil, providing comprehensive solutions to small and medium-sized rural producers with land areas up to 500 hectares across agricultural inputs, grains origination and trading, and industrial processing segments. The company markets foliar fertilizers, plant-protection products, and seeds for soybean, corn, wheat, rice, and other crops; receives, standardizes, and trades grains such as soybean, corn, and wheat from third parties using its own logistics fleet; and processes soybeans into meal for animal feed, soybean oil, and biodiesel, with additional involvement in corn ethanol production planning. It also offers technical assistance including consulting in administration, crop management, and technology; digital solutions; sales promotion; insurance brokerage; supplementary pension and health plans; credit services via TentosCap such as rural credit cards and financing for producers; and trading of agricultural commodities, with exports to countries including Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Australia, and various nations in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Founded in 1954 by the Dumoncel family and headquartered in Santa Bárbara do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Três Tentos maintains 72 commercial units, three industrial parks, two technological research centers, two seed processing units, and a fertilizer mixing unit, primarily in Rio Grande do Sul with expansion into Mato Grosso and other Midwest regions, employing around 1,700 people and serving nearly 24,000 active clients. Recent developments include the incorporation of its financial arm TentosCap to expand rural credit operations, reaching a portfolio of R$219.6 million by December 2024 with targets of R$1.0 billion by 2025 as part of the New Growth Plan 2024-2030; a BRL 500 million loan from BNDES signed in November 2024 to fund a new corn ethanol plant in Porto Alegre do Norte with initial capacity of 935,000 liters per day, set for operation by early 2026; investments in expanding seed distribution and fertilizer mixing capacities in Mato Grosso and Rio Grande do Sul; ramp-up of canola processing with expected acreage doubling; and strong Q3 2025 financial performance with net operating revenue up 43% year-over-year to nearly BRL 5 billion.
