Bayer AG Bayer AG is a German multinational life sciences company that develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of pharmaceuticals, consumer health products and crop science solutions. Bayer AG conducts global operations across North America, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, targeting healthcare providers, consumers, farmers and agricultural customers; the company was founded in 1863 and is headquartered in Leverkusen, Germany. Among its latest major developments, Bayer AG extended its multi-year strategic partnership with Ginkgo Bioworks in October 2025 to advance research on agricultural biologicals including microbial nitrogen fixation, complementing synthetic fertilizers; entered a collaboration worth up to $1.3 billion with Kumquat Biosciences in August 2025 for a KRAS G12D inhibitor cancer drug candidate targeting pancreatic, colorectal and lung cancers to bolster its precision oncology portfolio; added 1.2 billion euros ($1.37 billion) to Roundup litigation reserves in 2025 while raising sales guidance; implemented a Dynamic Shared Ownership operating model targeting 800 million euros in cost savings for 2025 as part of its turnaround strategy with improved performance expected from 2026; and continues heavy investment in R&D including cell and gene therapy units and ten planned blockbuster crop science products by 2029.
