Business
Empresas Gasco S.A. is a Chilean energy holding company engaged in the procurement, distribution, and commercialization of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and integrated sustainable energy solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and real estate clients. Founded in 1856 and headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the company operates across Chile and Colombia and trades on the Santiago Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol GASCO. Empresas Gasco structures its business into three core operating segments: Chile Energy Solutions, International Business Energy Solutions, and Procurement. The company's comprehensive product and service portfolio comprises bottled and bulk LPG distribution for residential and industrial use under the Gasco brand in Chile and the Vidagas and Unigas brands in Colombia; piped natural gas distribution under public concession in southern Chile through Gasco Magallanes; automotive gas distribution and vehicular conversion solutions under the AutoGasco brand; liquefied natural gas supply, virtual pipelines, and satellite regasification plants; distributed solar photovoltaic installations and decentralized electric power generation through Gasco Luz and Inersa; customized thermal energy systems and industrial boiler conversions; and tailored decarbonization solutions for high-consumption industrial operations through its Gasco Minería division. In recent strategic developments, Empresas Gasco has accelerated its focus on energy transition and industrial decarbonization, notably securing structured financing through its subsidiary Gasco Solar Térmico to develop and operate a major industrial solar-thermal generation facility for BHP's Minera Escondida. The company has also expanded its specialized Gasco Minería unit to replace high-emission fuels across heavy industries, advanced supply and storage logistics projects including maritime terminal infrastructure in Chile and import terminals in Colombia, and broadened its investments in hybrid solar-gas microgrids and renewable energy innovations.
