Business
Masisa S.A. is a Chile-based manufacturer and distributor of wood board solutions and architectural products for the furniture, construction, and interior architecture industries. Founded in 1960 and headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the company operates as a subsidiary of GN Holding S.A. under the control of Grupo Nueva. Masisa operates industrial facilities, commercial distribution channels, and retail networks across Latin America and North America, serving markets in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and the United States, as well as export destinations in Asia. The company operates the Placacentro specialized retail and distribution network, which serves professional carpenters, architects, and furniture manufacturers with raw materials and value-added fabrication services. Masisa offers an extensive product and service portfolio, which includes raw and decorated medium-density fiberboard (MDF) panels; medium-density particleboard (MDP) and standard particleboard panels; melamine-coated decorative boards featuring antimicrobial surface technology; natural wood veneered panels and painted wall coverings; oriented strand board (OSB) and sawn lumber; finger-joint mouldings and architectural millwork; interior doors, doorframes, and decorative wall claddings; edge banding materials and adhesives; complementary cabinet hardware, hinges, slides, and fasteners; and specialized fabrication services, including computerized cut optimization, precision panel sizing, and edge-banding through the Masisa Optimiza digital platform. In recent developments, Masisa completed an 88 million dollar financial liability restructuring in early 2026, comprising a 33 million dollar domestic bond exchange and the refinancing of 55 million dollars in short-term bank credit facilities to strengthen its capital structure and extend debt maturities. Additionally, the company appointed PwC to lead a formal search for a strategic partner and investor to support long-term operational development and strategic expansion initiatives.
