- Bedford Metals Corp. is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of uranium and gold properties. The Company’s principal activities comprise uranium exploration in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin and gold exploration in British Columbia; it does not report commercial mining production. Bedford Metals was incorporated in 2006, was formerly known as Academy Metals Inc. until its October 2022 name change, and is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The Company’s principal mineral-property portfolio includes the wholly owned Sheppard Lake Uranium Project, a 13,092-hectare land package on the southern margin of the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan. Sheppard Lake includes multiple uranium exploration targets, notably TZ1, TZ2 and the Warr Lake Zone, and encompasses the Ubiquity Lake, Sheppard Lake and Cable Lake areas. Bedford also holds a 100% interest in the 687-hectare Marguerete Gold Project, located approximately 200 kilometers northwest of Vancouver near the Phillips Arm gold camp in southwestern British Columbia; exploration activities on the property include geochemical surveying and targeted drilling, with historical samples reported by the Company to include grades of up to 6.18 grams of gold per tonne. In addition, the Company holds the approximately 245-hectare Close Lake Uranium Project on the eastern side of the Athabasca Basin, adjacent to claims held by Cameco Corp. and within an exploration corridor that includes the Key Lake, Cigar Lake and McArthur River mining areas; the property is prospective for basement-hosted and unconformity-related uranium mineralization associated with conductive and magnetic geophysical targets.
Bedford Metals’ services and operating activities consist principally of mineral-property acquisition and evaluation; geological mapping and prospecting; geochemical, radiometric and geophysical surveying; electromagnetic-target delineation; diamond drilling; uranium and gold target generation; exploration-program planning and execution; environmental stewardship and stakeholder engagement related to its Canadian exploration assets. The Company targets prospective uranium deposits in the Athabasca Basin and gold mineralization in established British Columbia mineral districts, positioning its portfolio toward discovery-stage resource development rather than mine operation.
Recent developments center on advancement of the Sheppard Lake Uranium Project. In January 2026, Bedford entered into an exploration agreement with English River First Nation to establish a collaboration and cooperation framework for work at Sheppard Lake. The Company subsequently completed its spring 2026 drilling program at the project in June 2026 and, in August 2026, reported zones of anomalous uranium from the program. Bedford also closed a private placement in April 2026, following an announced C$1.0 million financing, and adopted semi-annual financial reporting in May 2026. These actions reflect a strategic emphasis on funding and accelerating uranium exploration while maintaining its gold exploration exposure through the Marguerete property.
