The bank's Retail Banking segment offers a comprehensive suite of personal financial products and services, including current accounts, savings accounts, recurring deposits, fixed-term deposits, and prize-linked saving accounts such as the Al Watani saving scheme; consumer credit facilities, including personal loans, vehicle financing, residential mortgages, and government-subsidized Mazaya social housing loans; payment and card solutions, comprising credit cards, contactless debit cards, and prepaid cards; digital banking services delivered via the NBB Mobile Banking application and internet banking portal; and private banking, wealth management, and bancassurance distribution services. Its Corporate and Institutional Banking segment provides commercial lending, working capital finance, term loans, project and infrastructure finance, syndicated facilities, and real estate development financing; trade finance instruments, including letters of credit, bank guarantees, export and import documentary collections, and bill discounting; structured finance, asset-backed lending, and supply chain finance; institutional cash management, multi-currency corporate accounts, liquidity management, electronic payroll processing, and merchant acquiring and point-of-sale solutions for small, medium, and large enterprises, government entities, and financial institutions. The Treasury and Capital Markets segment manages the bank's funding, liquidity, and investment portfolio, providing foreign exchange spot, forward, and swap trading; interest rate derivatives and structured risk management solutions; money market operations; debt capital market origination and distribution; and sovereign and corporate fixed income securities trading. Through its majority-owned subsidiary, Bahrain Islamic Bank BSC (BisB), NBB provides a full array of Sharia-compliant retail and corporate banking products, including Murabaha, Ijara, Mudaraba, and Sukuk issuance and investment services.
Geographically, NBB maintains an extensive domestic network of branches and automated teller machines across the Kingdom of Bahrain, alongside international branch operations located in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In recent developments, NBB has advanced its long-term strategic transformation program, accelerating digital innovation across its retail and corporate platforms with the implementation of frictionless digital customer onboarding, open banking integrations, and an upgraded digital business banking platform. The bank has expanded its sustainable financing operations by introducing green personal and auto loans, solar panel installation financing, and ESG-linked credit frameworks for corporate clients. Furthermore, NBB continues to deepen its strategic synergies and operational integration with Bahrain Islamic Bank BSC following its majority acquisition, while actively engaging in regional cross-border payment integration through the Arab Regional Payment System (Buna) and the GCC Cross-Border Payment System (AFAQ), and collaborating with national development agencies including Tamkeen to support the financing and growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises.
