- Çimentaş İzmir Çimento Fabrikası Türk A.Ş. is a Turkey-based building materials manufacturer engaged in the production, marketing, and distribution of cement, clinker, ready-mixed concrete, and aggregates, as well as the provision of integrated industrial waste management and resource recovery services. Founded in 1950 and headquartered in İzmir, Turkey, the company operates as a core operating subsidiary of Netherlands-based Cementir Holding N.V., part of the Caltagirone Group, with its shares publicly traded on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker CMENT.
The company organizes its activities into three main business lines: Cement and Clinker, Ready-Mixed Concrete and Aggregates, and Waste Management. Its core products and services comprise: grey and white Portland cement varieties across standard performance classes, including CEM I Portland cement, CEM II Portland-composite cement, and CEM IV pozzolanic cement, distributed in bulk and bagged formats; hydraulic binders and clinker for intermediate processing; standard, high-performance, self-compacting, and special-application ready-mixed concrete solutions manufactured and distributed through its publicly listed subsidiary Çimbeton A.Ş.; crushed stone, sand, and quarry aggregates for concrete batching, asphalt, and precast infrastructure applications operated through its subsidiary Ege Kırmataş; and industrial waste management services delivered through its subsidiary Süreko, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment, recycling, disposal, and the production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and solid recovered fuel (SRF) used as alternative energy sources for cement kilns. The company caters to commercial and residential builders, infrastructure contractors, precast component fabricators, and industrial enterprises across Turkey—primarily in the Aegean, Marmara, and Eastern Anatolia regions—alongside export distribution across Mediterranean and regional markets.
In recent strategic and operational developments, Çimentaş optimized its geographic manufacturing footprint by completing the sale of its subsidiary Kars Çimento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. to Arsem Madencilik Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. for a total consideration of approximately EUR 51 million, enabling the group to focus capital and resources on vertically integrated cement, concrete, and aggregate operations in western and central Turkey. Additionally, the company has advanced its decarbonization and circular economy programs across its production facilities in İzmir, Edirne, and Elazığ by increasing thermal substitution rates with waste-derived alternative fuels, expanding integrated aggregate capacity, and adopting Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS).
