- Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust (BITB) is a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund that provides investors with direct exposure to the price performance of bitcoin, holding bitcoin directly through secure multi-layer cold storage custody provided by Coinbase Custody Trust Company, LLC; its shares trade on the NYSE Arca exchange under the ticker BITB with a management fee of 0.20%, waived to 0% for the first six months on the first $1 billion in assets. The ETF, sponsored by Bitwise Investment Advisers, LLC—a subsidiary of Bitwise Asset Management, founded in 2017 and headquartered in San Francisco, California—launched trading on January 11, 2024, following SEC approval of spot bitcoin ETFs. Bitwise Asset Management, the world's largest crypto index fund manager with over $15 billion in assets under management, operates globally with offices in San Francisco, New York, and London, serving more than 4,000 private wealth teams, registered investment advisors, family offices, institutional investors, banks, and broker-dealers through a suite exceeding 30 products including ETFs, separately managed accounts, private funds, hedge fund strategies, and staking services.
