Business
Sitios Latinoamérica, S.A.B. de C.V. is an independent telecommunications infrastructure company that acquires, builds, develops, co-locates, operates, and leases towers and other passive infrastructure assets for wireless communications across Latin America and the Caribbean. Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from telecommunications conglomerate América Móvil and headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico, the company operates across the telecommunications infrastructure and real estate sectors, providing critical physical transmission support structures to mobile network operators, wireless internet service providers, broadband carriers, Internet of Things (IoT) network operators, and enterprise communication networks. The company's core products and services encompass: passive wireless infrastructure leasing, providing long-term site lease space across a regional portfolio of over 37,000 wireless communication sites; tower and physical structure solutions, comprising ground-based self-supporting lattice towers, guyed masts, monopoles, stealth and camouflaged urban structures, rooftop installations, small cell support units, and distributed antenna systems (DAS); build-to-suit (BTS) development services, encompassing site selection, land acquisition, zoning approval, regulatory permitting, civil engineering, structural design, and turnkey tower construction tailored to specific carrier coverage and densification specifications; site co-location and multi-tenancy management, enabling multiple wireless operators to share physical tower space and reduce network deployment costs under multi-year Master Service Agreements (MSAs); comprehensive operation and maintenance services, including continuous structural integrity assessments, routine preventative maintenance, emergency repair, 24/7 physical site security, access control management, and environmental compliance monitoring; and ancillary energy and shelter infrastructure solutions, offering climate-controlled equipment shelters, outdoor cabinet enclosures, transmission cable bridges, electrical grid interconnection interfaces, battery backup banks, diesel generators, and hybrid solar power systems to ensure network resilience. Sitios Latinoamérica maintains extensive geographic operations across fifteen countries organized into strategic regional clusters, including Brazil as its largest operational market, the Andean region comprising Chile, Ecuador, and Peru, the Central American region encompassing Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama, the Southern Cone (AUP) region covering Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, and the Caribbean markets of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. In recent major company developments, Sitios Latinoamérica has executed key strategic portfolio adjustments, balance sheet optimization programs, and accelerated organic infrastructure expansions. The company completed a strategic portfolio reorganization through the sale of its Colombian tower assets and operating subsidiary to Claro Colombia, an América Móvil subsidiary, transferring its local infrastructure footprint to optimize capital allocation. Concurrently, the company accelerated its organic build-to-suit rollouts and commercial co-location pipeline across Brazil and the Andean markets to meet intensifying mobile carrier demand for 5G network rollouts and densification. In addition, Sitios Latinoamérica has advanced balance sheet deleveraging initiatives, lowering net debt leverage ratios through improved operational cash flow generation, index-linked contract escalators, and proactive fixed-income liability management across international and domestic debt markets while continuing to expand third-party tenant diversification across its pan-regional tower portfolio.
