Bluemonte Long Term Bond ETF (NYSE: BLTD) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks total return and income by investing, under normal circumstances, at least 80% of its net assets in instruments providing exposure to long-duration, investment-grade bonds and ETFs, typically with maturities greater than 10 years; such investments include underlying funds holding U.S. dollar-denominated debt securities such as corporate bonds, taxable municipal bonds, U.S. government and agency securities, residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, commercial paper, inflation-linked securities like Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), and securitized products including collateralized debt obligations (CDOs) and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). The fund maintains a portfolio concentrated in investment-grade debt securities rated BBB/Baa or higher (or equivalent if unrated), with an overall weighted average maturity exceeding 10 years, and as of late 2025 holds approximately four positions with total net assets around $131 million, an expense ratio of 0.23%, and a dividend yield of about 1.00%.
Launched on June 20, 2025, BLTD represents part of the Bluemonte ETF suite sponsored by Exchange Traded Concepts LLC, headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with RFG Advisory LLC serving as sub-adviser from its base in Vestavia Hills, Alabama; this suite of nine actively managed ETFs—spanning equity (BLUX, BVAL, BINT, BLGR, BLUC) and fixed-income strategies (BLTD, BDBT, BLUI, BLST)—was introduced via one of the largest and most complex Section 351 exchange transactions in ETF history, converting over a thousand client separately managed accounts (SMAs) into ETFs to enhance tax efficiency and portfolio management for individual investors.
The fund targets investors seeking positive duration exposure as a potential cushion against recessionary risk within developed U.S. markets, operating primarily through NYSE Arca with no reported international geographic focus beyond U.S.-denominated assets.
