Boart Longyear Group Ltd. Boart Longyear Group Ltd. (BLYFF) provides drilling services, drilling equipment, and performance tooling to mining and mineral exploration companies worldwide. Founded in 1890 and headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, the company operates through Global Drilling Services and Global Products segments; the former delivers diamond coring exploration, reverse circulation, large diameter rotary, mine dewatering, water supply and pump services, production drilling, underground exploration, grade control, longhole production, sonic drilling, and environmental and geotechnical services to customers mining commodities such as copper, gold, nickel, zinc, uranium, and other metals and minerals, while the latter designs, manufactures, markets, and services drill rigs, drill string products, rugged performance tooling, durable drilling consumables, parts, aftermarket support, down-hole instrumentation, and geological data capture technologies including those from its Veracio subsidiary. Boart Longyear maintains manufacturing facilities across six global locations and conducts operations in North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In April 2024, affiliates of American Industrial Partners completed a take-private acquisition of the company, delisting it from the Australian Securities Exchange and marking a strategic shift to private ownership focused on growth in critical minerals production, product engineering, aftermarket services, procurement, and operational efficiencies.
