(BMW.BO), incorporated in 1981 and headquartered in Kolkata, India, manufactures, processes, and sells steel products primarily in the domestic market through seven steel processing centers located in Jamshedpur and Howrah, West Bengal. The company offers an extensive range of steel long products, including bars, rods, TMT rebars, transmission line towers, and tubular poles and structures; flat products such as pipes, tubes, MS and GI pipes, galvanized plain (GP) and corrugated (GC) sheets; and value-added processed coils encompassing HR slit coils, HRPO (hot rolled pickling and oiling) coils, CR (cold rolled) coils, and galvanized coils; serving industries including infrastructure, construction, automotive, renewable energy, and defense. BMW Industries Ltd. operates one of India's largest independent cold rolling and galvanizing facilities, undertaking services like slitting and cut-to-length of hot rolled coils (HRC), HRC pickling and oiling, annealing, galvanizing, and production of structural pipes and water/gas pipes for major steel producers. In March 2025, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India's Ministry of Steel under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 1.1 for specialty steel, enabling production of coated/plated steel products of metallic/non-metallic alloy and Al-Zn coated (Galvalume) products at its upcoming greenfield downstream steel complex in Bokaro, Jharkhand. BMW Industries Ltd. announced an Rs 803 crore investment in the Bokaro facility in August 2025, featuring capacities of 300,000 tonnes for cold rolled full hard coils/sheets, 540,000 tonnes for galvanized coils/sheets, and 200,000 tonnes for color-coated coils/sheets, with color-coated production slated to commence in Q3 FY26 and advanced coated products in Q1 FY27; the project has received clearance from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board and aligns with Make in India initiatives. Originally founded as Bansal Mechanical Works Pvt. Ltd. and renamed BMW Industries Ltd. in June 1999, the company continues to expand its downstream steel capabilities amid rising domestic demand.
