Bank of America Corporation is a bank holding company and financial holding company that provides banking, investing, asset management and other financial and risk management products and services to individual consumers, small- and middle-market businesses, institutional investors, large corporations and governments worldwide; it is headquartered at Bank of America Corporate Center, 100 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, and traces its modern corporate formation to 1998 following the merger of NationsBank and BankAmerica, with origins dating to 1904. The company operates through Consumer Banking, Global Wealth & Investment Management, Global Banking and Global Markets, with remaining activities reported in All Other; its offerings include consumer and business deposit products, credit and debit cards, mortgage and home equity lending, auto lending, small-business services, commercial banking, treasury and payment solutions, trade finance, investment banking, capital markets services, sales and trading, brokerage, self-directed and advisory investing, wealth planning, asset management and institutional client services. Bank of America also provides digital banking and mobile applications; its retail and commercial platform is supported by online and mobile tools, virtual financial assistance and technology-enabled servicing across its U.S. and international operations. Recent major changes include continued streamlining of its organizational structure through subsidiary reductions and intercompany mergers; a 2025 increase in its U.S. minimum hourly wage to $25; ongoing investment in technology, including artificial intelligence and digital capabilities; and expansion of branch and market coverage alongside new infrastructure-finance and international investment commitments highlighted in 2026 disclosures and presentations.
