(BPOP) operates as a leading financial holding company that provides a broad range of retail, commercial, and mortgage banking products and services through its principal subsidiaries, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico and Popular Bank; these include checking and savings accounts, personal and commercial loans, lines of credit, mortgages, credit cards, cash management, treasury services, equipment and auto leasing and financing, investment advisory, brokerage, trust administration, retirement planning, and insurance products. The company serves individual consumers, small to medium enterprises, corporate clients, and high-net-worth individuals across its core markets in Puerto Rico, the U.S. mainland (primarily New York, New Jersey, South Florida, and nationwide via Popular Direct high-yield savings and CDs), the U.S. Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, and other Caribbean and Latin American regions. Founded in 1893 and headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Popular, Inc. ranks among the 50 largest U.S. banks by assets and maintains a diversified segment structure encompassing Banco Popular de Puerto Rico for local retail, mortgage, and commercial operations and Popular U.S. for mainland retail branching and banking services.
