(BPY) is a global real estate company that owns, operates, develops, and invests in a diversified portfolio of commercial properties, including office buildings, retail centers, multifamily residential, logistics facilities, hospitality assets, triple-net-leased automotive dealerships, self-storage, student housing, manufactured housing, and single-family rentals. The partnership holds direct ownership of approximately 72 million leasable square feet in 125 office properties and 106 million square feet in 103 retail properties, primarily in major markets across the United States, supplemented by minority limited partner interests in Brookfield-sponsored opportunistic real estate funds such as the Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners (BSREP) series targeting gross returns of 20%; it also maintains investments in development projects and property management services. Formed in January 2013 as a spin-off from Brookfield Corporation and headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, the partnership operates principally in North America with additional revenues from Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, Brazil, Asia, and the Middle East, where approximately 65% of 2023 revenues originated from the United States; it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Brookfield Corporation, which holds a 63.46% beneficial interest in Brookfield Properties, while BPY retains a 35.89% general partnership interest therein.
