Business
National Peroxide Limited is an India-based specialty chemicals manufacturer and the country's pioneer and largest producer of hydrogen peroxide, operating as a key constituent of the Wadia Group. Founded in 1954 and headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, the company manufactures, markets, and distributes a specialized portfolio of peroxygen chemicals and industrial gases from its integrated manufacturing complex located in Kalyan, Maharashtra. The company's core product portfolio comprises Hydrogen Peroxide across technical, food, cosmetic, and high-purity aseptic packaging grades in concentrations ranging from 35% to 70% w/w, utilized primarily for bleaching in the pulp, paper, and textile industries, as well as for chemical synthesis, metallurgy, and environmental effluent treatment; Peracetic Acid formulations utilized as eco-friendly, high-level disinfectants and sanitizing agents in food and beverage processing, dairy sanitation, healthcare, agriculture, and water purification; Compressed Hydrogen Gas supplied as an industrial reactant and fuel for specialized manufacturing and hydrogenation processes; and Sodium Perborate derivatives used as active oxygen bleaching agents in detergent, personal care, and pharmaceutical applications. National Peroxide Limited serves a diversified customer base across sectors such as pulp and paper, textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, consumer detergents, food processing, packaging, and municipal and industrial wastewater remediation, distributing its products domestically across India as well as exporting to international markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. In recent strategic and operational developments, the company has undertaken major capacity debottlenecking and technology modernization initiatives at its Kalyan production facility to enhance operating efficiencies; expanded its high-purity aseptic packaging grade portfolio to capitalize on increasing demand from automated food and dairy packaging lines; integrated renewable energy power purchase agreements to mitigate energy price volatility and reduce production overhead; and executed operational restructuring focused on supply chain optimization, import substitution, and downstream application development to preserve operating margins amid shifting global chemical market dynamics.
