Business
NMDC Steel Limited, a subsidiary of NMDC Limited under the administrative control of India's Ministry of Steel, manufactures and sells high-quality steel products from its 3 million tonnes per annum integrated steel plant at Nagarnar, Chhattisgarh. The company produces hot rolled coils, sheets and plates in thicknesses from 1mm to 16mm including low carbon steel, high-strength low-alloy and dual phase steel, API 5L grade plates for pipelines, structural and silicon electrical steel, pig iron, and LPG cylinder grades; these serve sectors such as automotive, shipbuilding, bridges and infrastructure, oil and gas pipelines, pressure vessels, boilers, construction machinery, railways, power transformers, motors and foundry applications. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Hyderabad, the company operates primarily in India with iron ore linkages from nearby Bailadila mines and commenced commercial production of hot rolled coils in August 2023 following its demerger from NMDC Limited and stock exchange listing in February 2023. Recent developments include the entrustment of additional Director (Finance) charge to Priyadarshini Gaddam in April 2025, appointment of Amitava Mukherjee as Chairman and Managing Director in March 2025, attainment of CE certification from TUV Nord in March 2025, and issuance of an expression of interest in March 2025 for long-term low volatile high rank coking coal supply agreements.
