Business
Sunflag Iron and Steel Company Limited manufactures and sells special steel rolled products, including alloy steels, stainless steels, spring steels, tool steels, free cutting steels, microalloyed steels, bearing steels, valve steels, cold heading quality steels, high strength steels and super alloys such as inconel, inconoloy, invar, nimonic and hastelloy; offers these in profiles comprising round bars, round cornered squares, hexagonal and flat sections, round and hexagonal wire rods as coils, as well as bright bars including peeled, drawn and ground variants; and operates a captive thermal power plant to support production. The company serves automotive components for transmissions, drive shafts, steering systems, bearings, exhaust systems and engines via hot forging, cold forming and machining; supplies to railways, ordnance factories, defence, power sectors, general engineering and construction; and exports to South East Asia, Middle East, Europe, North America, South America, South Africa, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Ireland. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, with its integrated steel plant at Bhandara, the company maintains technical collaboration with Daido Steel Company of Japan since 2010 for process improvements, new grade development and localization support; employs clean steel technology using 100 percent iron ore-based inputs without scrap; and holds certifications including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and AD-2000 Merkblatt WO, with NABL-accredited testing labs. In recent developments, Sunflag Iron and Steel secures a contract with Boeing for aerospace steel qualification and achieves multiple Super Gold and Gold awards at the 36th Chapter Convention on Quality Concept in September 2025 for Kaizen initiatives in total productive maintenance.
