Business
Virya Resources Ltd operates as a coal agency in India, primarily dealing in steam coal; it provides importation services, negotiates prices and contracts between buyers and sellers, manages logistics and shipping, oversees quality control and testing, and ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Incorporated in 1987 and headquartered in Hyderabad, the company, formerly known as Gayatri Tissue and Papers Ltd until its name change in August 2022, is a subsidiary of VR Integrated Project Management Pvt Ltd and trades on the Bombay Stock Exchange under the ticker VIRYA.BO. It plans to diversify into additional commodities including coking coal, zinc, lead, bauxite and nickel for domestic and international markets, capitalizing on post-pandemic opportunities in coal imports for the power sector.
