In recent developments, Industrial Holding Bulgaria AD has focused on strategic fleet renewal, maritime decarbonization compliance, and operational infrastructure enhancements. In July 2024, the company executed contracts with New Dayang Shipbuilding for the construction of up to three Ultramax Crown 63 newbuild bulk carriers, each with a capacity of 64,100 deadweight tons, designed to optimize fuel efficiency and augment its long-term commercial ocean transport capacity. The group has also modernized handling facilities and storage infrastructure at its Odessos PBM and Bulport Logistics port terminals in Varna, while scaling engineering retrofit solutions for international environmental compliance through IHB Shipdesign AD. Additionally, the holding company published its inaugural Consolidated Sustainability Report covering group-wide environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and maintained an active capital management strategy comprising ongoing share repurchase programs and regular dividend distributions approved at its annual general meetings.
