Business
Synthetica AD is a Bulgaria-based investment holding company that engages in the acquisition, development, and management of operating subsidiaries across the healthcare manufacturing, renewable energy, real estate, and transportation sectors. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria, the company conducts its primary operations across domestic and international European markets. The company operates through four principal business segments: Medical Devices and Healthcare Consumables; Renewable Energy; Real Estate Management; and Transportation and Tourism. Through its majority-owned subsidiary, Etropal AD, the company specializes in the development, manufacture, and distribution of disposable medical supplies and specialized hemodialysis equipment, offering products and services such as low-flux, medium-flux, and high-flux capillary dialyzers; arterial-venous blood tubing lines; arterial-venous fistula needles; sterile single-use procedure kits, including biopsy, wound care, and suture kits; disposable syringes, cannulas, probes, and catheters; infusion and transfusion administration sets; urine collection bags; clean-room plastic injection molding and extrusion; and specialized industrial ethylene oxide (EtO) and steam sterilization services for hospitals, specialized clinics, and clinical laboratories. Through its renewable energy and technical subsidiaries, the company provides solar power generation; the installation, operation, and maintenance of photovoltaic power plants; and technical energy engineering services. In its real estate division, the group provides commercial property leasing, facility management, and asset development services, managing assets including the Vaptsarov Business Center. Through historical and active transportation subsidiaries, including Union Ivkoni OOD, the group offers intercity and international coach transport, passenger logistics, and travel management services. In recent corporate developments, Synthetica AD has actively restructured its asset base to focus on high-yield core holdings. The company executed the strategic divestment of its energy efficiency services subsidiary, Esko Bulgaria EOOD, selling the entity to Formoplast AD. Following an operational and compliance review, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange terminated its special monitoring regime over Synthetica AD, reaffirming the trading of its shares under the ticker SYN on the Main Market Standard Segment. Concurrently, the group has implemented operational modernization across its Etropal manufacturing facilities to maintain European Medical Device Regulation compliance and has enhanced output efficiency across its solar energy generation portfolio.
