Business
Trace Group Hold AD is a Bulgaria-based construction and civil engineering holding company that specializes in infrastructure development, transport engineering, environmental public works, and general contracting services. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Sofia, Bulgaria, the company operates across Central and Eastern Europe and select international markets, managing the full project lifecycle from architectural and engineering design through construction execution, specialized material manufacturing, and long-term infrastructure maintenance. The company provides a comprehensive range of construction, engineering, and support solutions structured across four primary business divisions: Transportation Infrastructure, Environmental and Public Utilities, Civil and Industrial Construction, and Construction Materials and Technical Services. Its Transportation Infrastructure offerings comprise the construction, rehabilitation, repair, and ongoing maintenance of highways, motorways, municipal roadways, and urban streets; bridges, viaducts, overpasses, and subterranean tunnels; metropolitan subway systems, underground stations, and railway tracks; and airport runways, aprons, and taxiways. Its Environmental and Public Utilities segment provides the design and construction of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants; potable water supply distribution networks and sewerage systems; gas transmission, compression, and distribution pipelines; riverbed corrections, dams, and hydraulic protection facilities; and integrated municipal solid waste processing plants. In Civil and Industrial Construction, the company delivers general contracting, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions for multi-family residential complexes, commercial office buildings, administrative centers, logistics parks, and industrial production facilities, alongside real estate development and property management services through its subsidiary Trace Properties. Its Construction Materials and Technical Services operations provide the production and supply of hot and cold asphalt mixtures, polymer-modified bitumen, and ready-mix concrete; extraction and processing of inert stone aggregates and quarry materials; accredited laboratory testing and geotechnical quality control; heavy construction equipment and transport vehicle leasing; logistics and wholesale trade of building materials; and comprehensive project engineering and consulting services. Trace Group Hold AD conducts operations through subsidiaries and branch units across Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, the Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Greece, and Ukraine. In recent developments, the company expanded its international footprint into North America through the establishment of a United States subsidiary, Trace Group Hold USA LLC, registered in Delaware. To broaden its access to international capital markets and diversify its institutional investor base, the group initiated strategic plans to pursue a dual listing of its equity on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Operationally, the company has secured and advanced several large-scale regional infrastructure contracts, including participation in a consortium awarded the construction of a new metro line in Bucharest, Romania, valued at approximately EUR 922 million; ongoing underground rail extensions for the Sofia Metro system in Bulgaria; motorway construction packages along Romania's A3 corridor; and the modernization of cross-border railway infrastructure connecting Bulgaria and North Macedonia.
