Business
Amixa Holding Plc (Amixa Holding Nyrt.) is a Hungary-based holding and asset management company operating primarily in the food manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and wholesale food distribution sectors. The company manages an integrated portfolio of operating enterprises focused on the production, import, marketing, logistics, and commercialization of specialized and branded food products across Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe. Through its operating subsidiaries, the company provides products and services across multiple core divisions: food import and brand distribution services, encompassing nationwide brand representation, chilled and ambient temperature warehousing, supply chain logistics, and retail distribution for major multinational food and beverage brands, including dairy items, specialty spreads, and packaged beverages; dietary and health-conscious food manufacturing, which formulates, produces, and packages gluten-free, allergen-free, and functional foodstuffs comprising specialized flours, baking mixes, pasta, bread, sweet and savory biscuits, and ready-to-eat baked goods marketed under proprietary brands such as It's us food; private-label product development and contract packaging services for domestic and regional retail chains; and strategic corporate asset management, consisting of portfolio optimization, capital allocation, and operational integration services designed to generate supply chain synergies. The company serves a diverse client base consisting of retail grocery chains, hypermarkets, wholesale cash-and-carry operators, independent specialty health food stores, pharmacies, food service providers, and online retail channels. Originally established on December 18, 1996, the company is headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, and is publicly traded on the Budapest Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol BUD:AMIXA. In recent years, the company executed a strategic transformation, pivoting from its historical energy trading operations to a dedicated holding platform focused on FMCG and food industry assets, marked by its official name change from Első Hazai Energia-portfólió Nyrt. to Amixa Holding Nyrt. in June 2022. Expanding its market footprint through targeted acquisitions, the group acquired a 100 percent equity stake in Foodnet Zrt. in January 2024, securing exclusive national distribution rights for established international brands such as Müller, Starbucks, Arla, and Lurpak. In June 2025, Amixa Holding expanded into specialized food manufacturing through the full acquisition of Hunorganic Kft., alongside a 50 percent equity interest in Naturtrend Food Kft., integrating modern gluten-free production facilities and proprietary health brands. The company continues to advance capital investment programs aimed at modernizing manufacturing capacities and expanding distribution networks across the regional food sector.
