Business
Nexa Resources Atacocha S.A.A. is a Peru-based polymetallic mining and exploration company engaged in the extraction, processing, and commercialization of base and precious metal concentrates. Founded in 1936 and headquartered in Lima, Peru, the company operates as a subsidiary of global metals producer Nexa Resources S.A., part of the Brazilian conglomerate Votorantim S.A. Nexa Resources Atacocha conducts its primary mining activities at the Atacocha unit, which comprises both open-pit and underground operations situated in the Pasco Region of central Peru. The company's principal product and service offerings comprise zinc concentrates; lead concentrates; copper concentrates; silver and gold contained as by-products within lead and copper concentrates; and captive hydroelectric power generation through its Marcopampa and Chaprin hydroelectric power stations. The company commercializes its mineral concentrates to domestic and international smelters, metallurgical refiners, and global commodity traders. In recent operational and corporate developments, the company is advancing the comprehensive integration of its Atacocha operations with the adjacent El Porvenir mine to form the consolidated Pasco Mining Complex. This strategic integration involves centralized tailings management, optimized waste storage infrastructure, underground tunnel interconnections, and the routing of ore to the El Porvenir processing plant to reduce operating unit costs and extend the life-of-mine. Recent adjustments to the project's long-term design have extended the anticipated operational life of the Atacocha open pit, expanded underground mineral reserves through exploration at the Integración target, and revised total integration capital expenditures to approximately 180 million USD. In addition, parent company Nexa Resources conducted public tender offers to consolidate its equity holding in the company, supporting unified operating synergies across its Peruvian asset base.
