Business
Nexa Resources Peru S.A.A. is a polymetallic mining and mineral exploration company engaged in the exploration, extraction, processing, and commercialization of non-ferrous mineral concentrates and metals. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Lima, Peru, the company operates as a primary subsidiary of Nexa Resources S.A., which is controlled by the Brazilian industrial conglomerate Votorantim S.A. The company's product and commercial offerings include zinc concentrates; copper concentrates; lead concentrates; silver concentrates; and gold by-products. Its primary operational assets comprise the Cerro Lindo underground polymetallic mine located in the Ica region; the El Porvenir underground mine in the Pasco region; and the Atacocha underground and open-pit operation, which together with El Porvenir forms the integrated Pasco Complex. In addition to producing assets, the company manages an extensive portfolio of advanced greenfield and brownfield exploration projects, including the Magistral copper project; the Shalipayco zinc project; the Hilarión zinc-silver project; and the Pukaqaqa copper-gold project. In recent corporate and operational developments, Nexa Resources Peru has executed strategic operational integration initiatives between the El Porvenir and Atacocha operations to optimize processing plants, shared tailing storage infrastructure, and administrative synergies; accelerated deep brownfield exploration and infill drilling campaigns across Cerro Lindo and El Porvenir to replace depleted mineral reserves and extend overall mine life; secured long-term power purchase agreements for certified renewable electricity to advance decarbonization across its Peruvian mining sites; and implemented capital optimization programs aimed at plant debottlenecking, metallurgical recovery improvements, and the integration of automated and remote-controlled underground mobile fleet equipment.
