Business
Pluz Energía Perú S.A.A. is a Peru-based electric utility company primarily engaged in the distribution and commercialization of electric power to regulated and free-market consumers. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Lima, Peru, the company manages an extensive electrical distribution concession covering the northern sector of Metropolitan Lima, the Constitutional Province of Callao, and the provinces of Huaura, Huaral, Barranca, and Oyón, serving approximately 1.6 million residential, commercial, and industrial clients across 59 districts. The company's core business offerings and services encompass: electric power distribution and transmission via high-, medium-, and low-voltage networks; new grid connections and electrical capacity expansions; public street lighting installation and maintenance; advanced smart metering and automated consumption monitoring systems; distributed solar photovoltaic generation systems for residential and commercial facilities; commercial and industrial battery energy storage systems (BESS); electric vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure and electromobility solutions; energy efficiency auditing, power quality optimization, and electrical safety consulting; and specialized electrical infrastructure engineering, maintenance, and emergency repair services for institutional and industrial clients. Formerly operating as Enel Distribución Perú S.A.A. (and originally established as Edelnor), the company is a subsidiary of North Lima Power Grid Holding S.A.C., controlled by China Southern Power Grid International (CSGI). In June 2024, CSGI finalized the acquisition of Enel S.p.A.'s 83.15% equity stake in the company and 100% of advanced energy solutions affiliate Enel X Perú S.A.C. in a transaction valued at approximately USD 3.1 billion, following regulatory approval from Peru's antitrust authority, INDECOPI. Subsequent to the ownership transfer, the company formally rebranded from Enel Distribución Perú S.A.A. to Pluz Energía Perú S.A.A. in August 2024 and updated its stock ticker on the Lima Stock Exchange (Bolsa de Valores de Lima) to PLUZENC1. Under its new corporate identity and ownership, the company continues to execute major capital investment programs aimed at modernizing electrical substations, digitalizing network infrastructure, expanding grid reliability, and scaling clean energy and electromobility integration across its operational footprint.
