Business
Celulosa Argentina S.A. is an integrated forestry, pulp, and paper company based in Argentina that manufactures, processes, and distributes cellulose pulp, coated and uncoated printing and writing papers, packaging materials, tissue papers, and solid wood products. Founded in 1929 and headquartered in Capitán Bermúdez, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, the company operates an integrated value chain encompassing sustainable forest management, industrial pulp production, paper manufacturing, lumber milling, and biomass-based bioenergy generation. The company organizes its commercial operations across several primary segments: Pulp and Paper, Wood Products, Forestry, and Energy. Its core product portfolio includes bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp (BEKP) used in high-grade papermaking; uncoated woodfree printing and writing papers marketed under brand names including Boreal, Boreal Plus, and Pampero; specialty kraft and industrial packaging papers; envelope papers; photocopy and commercial offset papers; tissue parent reels; and sawn timber, structural lumber, tongue-and-groove boards, and remanufactured pine and eucalyptus wood products through its timber operations, including Forestadora Tapebicuá S.A. In addition, Celulosa Argentina generates renewable electric power and steam from forest biomass and manufacturing byproducts at its cogeneration plants to support its industrial facilities and deliver power to the national grid. The company operates major industrial manufacturing facilities located in Capitán Bermúdez and Zárate, supported by extensive forestry plantations and sawmill operations in the provinces of Corrientes and Misiones, serving domestic commercial printers, converters, packaging manufacturers, publishers, and retailers, as well as export markets across Latin America, North America, and Europe. In recent operational and strategic developments, Celulosa Argentina has executed comprehensive debt refinancing and capital management programs through the issuance of local and dollar-linked negotiable obligations (Obligaciones Negociables) in the Argentine capital markets to optimize its maturity profile and liquidity. The company has also advanced strategic efficiency and modernization initiatives across its Capitán Bermúdez and Zárate manufacturing facilities, focusing on operational decarbonization, increased biomass cogeneration output, paper machine speed and yield enhancements, and expanded distribution of high-brightness sustainable paper grades to meet growing regional demand for eco-certified fiber-based packaging and printing substrates.
