Business
Morixe Hermanos SA is an Argentina-based food processing and consumer-packaged goods company engaged in the manufacturing, packaging, and commercialization of staple food products and mass-consumption goods for retail, foodservice, and industrial clients. The company operates across multiple food categories and offers an extensive product portfolio comprising wheat flours, including traditional, self-rising, semolina, and whole wheat varieties; baking mixes, dessert premixes, and culinary preparations; breadcrumbs and batter coatings; dry pasta; corn flour, precooked polenta, and arepa flour; oat flakes and instant oatmeal products; dry and canned pulses, including lentils, chickpeas, and beans; edible oils, such as extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil; table olives and vinegars; canned vegetables, mushrooms, hearts of palm, and canned tuna; dehydrated mashed potato flakes; frozen french fries; organic seeds and frozen fruits; and cookies and biscuits. Founded in 1901, Morixe Hermanos SA is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and operates as a primary food subsidiary of Argentine conglomerate Sociedad Comercial del Plata (SCP), which acquired a controlling stake of approximately 78% in July 2023. In recent corporate developments, the company has executed a strategic geographic expansion and portfolio diversification initiative through key cross-border acquisitions: in 2023, it completed the acquisition of 100% of Uruguayan food distributor and manufacturer Gibur; in March 2025, it acquired a 60% majority interest in Biomac, an Argentine producer and exporter of organic seeds, healthy foods, and frozen fruits with export operations to North America and Europe; and in August 2025, it acquired a 70% controlling stake in Intertrópico Colombiana SL, a Madrid-based distributor of Latin American food products in Europe, serving as a dedicated platform for commercial distribution across the European Union and international markets.
