Business
Rigolleau S.A. is an Argentina-based industrial manufacturer and distributor specializing in glass packaging, containers, and tableware. Founded in 1882 and headquartered in Berazategui, Buenos Aires Province, the company manufactures, imports, and commercializes glass products across three principal business segments: Glass Packaging (Envases), Houseware and Tableware (Hogar/Vajilla), and Promotional Glassware. The company's core product portfolio comprises Glass Containers and Packaging, including glass bottles and jars for the food and beverage sector for products such as edible oils, wines, spirits, beers, soft drinks, mineral waters, juices, sauces, preserves, and condiments; specialized glass containers, vials, ampoules, syrup bottles, and dropper bottles for pharmaceutical, healthcare, veterinary, and agrochemical applications; and flint and colored glass bottles and jars for the cosmetics, perfumery, and personal care industries. Its Houseware and Tableware segment offers consumer glassware, including drinking glasses, tumblers, goblets, stemware, beer mugs, carafes, pitchers, serving bowls, salad bowls, plates, dessert dishes, ovenware, baking dishes, and storage jars. Through its Promotional division, the company provides customized, screen-printed, and decorated glassware designed for corporate merchandising, brand promotions, and marketing campaigns. Rigolleau S.A. primarily serves industrial food and beverage processors, pharmaceutical laboratories, cosmetic manufacturers, retail distributors, supermarkets, hospitality operators, and commercial businesses across Argentina and regional export markets. In recent developments, Rigolleau S.A. has undertaken operational and strategic restructuring initiatives to navigate macroeconomic volatility, shifting domestic consumer demand, and rising energy and production costs in Argentina. To optimize cost structures and protect operating margins, the company adjusted its manufacturing footprint by idling industrial glassmelting furnaces at its flagship Berazategui industrial complex, rationalizing capacity utilization, and rightsizing its workforce. In parallel, Rigolleau adapted its commercial strategy within the household segment by complementing local manufacturing with direct sourcing and importation of finished glass tableware and houseware lines from international suppliers, notably in Asia, while prioritizing its capital and domestic furnace capacity toward high-demand packaging lines for essential food, beverage, and pharmaceutical clients.
