Business
Instituto Rosenbusch S.A. is an Argentina-based animal health and veterinary pharmaceutical company engaged in the research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of veterinary biologics, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic solutions for livestock and companion animals. The company organizes its commercial and industrial operations primarily through two divisions: Biological Products and Pharmaceutical Products. Its biological portfolio encompasses viral and bacterial vaccines formulated for bovine, porcine, ovine, equine, and domestic pet health; diagnostic reagents and antigens, including Rose Bengal tests for bovine brucellosis screening; and biological vector control solutions, including biolarvicides. Its pharmaceutical portfolio includes broad-spectrum veterinary antibiotics and antimicrobials; internal and external antiparasitic treatments, comprising injectable endectocides, topical pour-on formulations, and oral anthelmintics; reproductive hormones and anti-inflammatory therapies; intramammary antimastitic medications; antifungal treatments; and metabolic nutrition solutions, including injectable vitamin, mineral, and amino acid complexes. The company also provides complementary livestock services, including veterinary laboratory diagnostics, epidemiology support, and electronic livestock identification and traceability systems. Founded in 1917 and formally incorporated in 1946, Instituto Rosenbusch S.A. is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The company operates manufacturing laboratories and experimental agricultural research facilities in Buenos Aires province, alongside regional commercial subsidiaries and production assets in Uruguay, with commercial distribution extending across Paraguay, Brazil, and international export markets in the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. In recent developments, Instituto Rosenbusch S.A. underwent a major ownership and governance transition following the acquisition of an 80.16% controlling equity stake by investment group Agro 2000 S.A. in 2026, marking the exit of the founding family after several generations of control. This transaction prompted a mandatory public tender offer for the remaining 19.84% of outstanding Class B shares traded on Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos. Under its new ownership, the company has implemented a comprehensive strategic turnaround and balance-sheet restructuring following previous court-supervised insolvency proceedings, focusing on credit capitalization, technical asset revaluations, the modernization of its biological and pharmaceutical manufacturing infrastructure, and the expansion of its export capabilities across regional agricultural markets.
