- Ternium Argentina S.A. is an Argentina-based steel manufacturing company primarily engaged in the production, processing, and distribution of a comprehensive range of flat steel products. Founded in 1992 following the privatization and consolidation of national steel assets (with institutional manufacturing roots dating back to 1947) and operating as a subsidiary of Ternium S.A. within the Techint Group, the company is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ternium Argentina operates an integrated manufacturing platform anchored by its primary blast furnace and steelmaking facility at the General Savio plant in Ramallo, complemented by downstream processing, profiling, and distribution centers in Ensenada, Florencio Varela, Haedo, Canning, and Rosario. The company manufactures, finishes, and markets a broad product portfolio categorized into: hot-rolled steel products, including hot-rolled coils, pickled and oiled coils, heavy plates, structural bands, and chequered floor plates; cold-rolled steel products, including cold-rolled coils, full-hard coils, and light-gauge flat sheets engineered for deep drawing and automotive stamping; coated steel products, encompassing hot-dip galvanized coils and sheets, 55 percent aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel marketed under the Zincalum brand, and pre-painted steel marketed under the Colorstrip brand; packaging steel solutions, including electrolytic tinplate and electrolytic chromium-coated steel used in food and beverage cans, aerosol containers, paints, and crown closures; transformed and custom steel products, comprising slit coils, cut-to-length sheets, trapezoidal and sinusoidal corrugated profiles, structural tubes, and custom-formed structural shapes; and industrial value-added services, including metallurgical testing, technical advisory, customized cutting and shearing, supply chain logistics, and just-in-time delivery management. The company serves diverse industrial sectors, including automotive manufacturing, residential and commercial construction, home appliances (white goods), agricultural machinery and implements, energy, and container packaging across domestic and regional Latin American markets. In recent operational developments and strategic initiatives, Ternium Argentina has advanced its environmental sustainability and decarbonization objectives through the development and operational commissioning of the Buena Ventura Wind Farm in Olavarría, Buenos Aires Province, an investment of over 160 million dollars designed to self-supply renewable electricity to its industrial production facilities. In addition, the company has implemented ongoing technological modernization programs across its primary ironmaking, coke, and rolling installations to enhance energy efficiency, reduce particulate emissions, and upgrade water recirculation systems. Furthermore, Ternium Argentina maintains a strategic non-controlling equity interest in Ternium México S.A. de C.V., reinforcing cross-border operational integration, and has expanded its portfolio of high-strength steel grades and customized structural solutions to serve expanding renewable energy infrastructure, agricultural equipment manufacturing, and next-generation automotive fabrication programs.
