Business
Ceres Global Ag Corp., established in 2007 and headquartered in Golden Valley, Minnesota, previously operated as a North American agricultural company specializing in the procurement and provision of agricultural commodities, value-added products, and comprehensive supply chain logistics. Prior to its acquisition, the company managed segments including Grain, Supply Chain Services, and Seed and Processing. Its operations encompassed the sourcing, storage, handling, trading, and merchandising of various commodity and specialty grains and oilseeds, such as oats, barley, rye, hard red spring wheat, durum wheat, canola, and pulses. Ceres utilized a network of grain storage and handling facilities located across Minnesota, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Beyond agricultural products, the company also offered logistics, storage, and transloading services for non-agricultural commodities and industrial goods, alongside activities like soybean crushing, specialty crop blending, birdseed manufacturing, and seed distribution. In July 2025, Ceres Global Ag Corp. was acquired by Bartlett Grain Company, an entity within the Savage family of companies, in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately US$140.1 million. This strategic integration expanded Bartlett's operational footprint and grain merchandising capabilities, combining Ceres' network and expertise to enhance supply chain efficiency across North America. As a result of this acquisition, Ceres Global Ag Corp. was delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange, transitioning from an independent public entity to a key component of a larger private agricultural organization.
