Colfax Corporation (NYSE: CFX), now operating as Enovis Corporation following a 2022 rebranding and spin-off of its ESAB industrial welding business, is a medical technology company that develops, manufactures and distributes clinically differentiated orthopedic solutions and recovery products to improve patient outcomes across the care continuum from injury prevention to rehabilitation and reconstructive surgery; its core offerings span the Prevention & Recovery segment, including rigid and soft orthopedic bracing, hot and cold therapy products, bone growth stimulators, vascular therapy systems and compression garments, therapeutic shoes and inserts, electrical stimulators for pain management, physical therapy devices, and DVT prevention products; and the Reconstructive segment, featuring surgical implants and productivity tools for hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, foot, ankle and finger joints, marketed under brands such as DonJoy, Aircast, Exos, Procare, Fast Freeze, Regeneration and Enovis Surgical. Enovis serves healthcare professionals, patients with musculoskeletal conditions from degenerative diseases, trauma, sports injuries or surgery, and operates globally with over 5,000 employees across six continents and manufacturing sites in more than 12 locations, including facilities in the US, Europe and Asia. Founded in 1995 by brothers Steven and Mitchell Rales and originally headquartered in Richmond, Virginia before relocating to Annapolis Junction, Maryland, the company has executed a strategic transformation from industrial fluid handling and fabrication technologies to a pure-play medical device focus, highlighted by the 2017 divestiture of its fluid handling business to Circor International for $860 million, the 2018 sale of Howden Turbo to KPS Capital Partners for $1.8 billion, the 2019 acquisition of DJO Global for $3.15 billion to enter orthopedics, the 2022 ESAB spin-off, the 2023 agreement and January 2024 completion of the €800 million ($880 million) acquisition of LimaCorporate to bolster extremity implants and expand in Europe, and seven smaller bolt-on deals in 2024 totaling $35 million alongside ongoing Lima integration.
