Loncar China BioPharma ETF (CHNA) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance, before fees and expenses, of the Loncar China BioPharma Index, a tier-weighted index of companies directly involved in the growth of China's pharmaceutical and biotech industry. The fund provides exposure to a modified equal-weighted portfolio of publicly listed companies operating across health care sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences, drug manufacturers, diagnostics, wholesalers, distributors, and service providers with strategic roles in China's drug industry; key holdings have historically included firms such as Legend Biotech Corp ADR, HUTCHMED (China) Ltd ADR, and Wuxi AppTec Co Ltd, alongside global biopharma names like Summit Therapeutics Inc and Agenus Inc. Launched on August 14, 2018, and headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the ETF targets growth-oriented investors seeking diversified access to China's emerging biopharma market through a single U.S.-traded security on Nasdaq. In a major strategic reorganization completed on October 20, 2023, CHNA was fully absorbed into the Range Cancer Therapeutics ETF (CNCR), with CHNA shareholders receiving equivalent CNCR shares at net asset value, resulting in CNCR issuing approximately 380,835 new shares and expanding its assets to over $11.5 million; this consolidation aligned the funds' complementary biotechnology and pharmaceutical exposures under Exchange Traded Concepts, LLC, as advisor. Post-reorganization, CHNA operates with minimal assets under management, approximately $0 to $4 million, zero average daily volume, and 91 holdings concentrated in U.S.-listed biopharma equities, reflecting a shift from pure China focus amid evolving market dynamics.
