Business
Vesuvius plc is a global leader in molten metal flow engineering and technology, principally serving the steel and foundry industries with advanced refractories, flow control solutions, consumable ceramics, and related engineering services; its Steel division offers flow control products including stopper rods and nozzles, advanced refractories for steelmaking equipment, and sensors and probes for process monitoring, while the Foundry division under the Foseco brand provides feeding systems, coatings, metal treatment consumables, filters, crucibles, and gating systems for iron, steel, and non-ferrous foundries. Founded in 1916 and headquartered at 165 Fleet Street in London, United Kingdom, the company operates manufacturing facilities and sales networks across six continents in over 30 countries, targeting steelmakers, foundries, and precious metal processors with customized solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Recent developments include the August 2025 agreement to acquire the Molten Metal Systems business from Morgan Advanced Materials plc for an enterprise value of £92.7 million, comprising £20 million cash and shares in its Indian subsidiary Foseco India Limited, to expand non-ferrous exposure particularly in India and achieve significant cost synergies boosting EBITDA by at least 50%; additionally, the February 2025 acquisition of a 61.65% stake in PiroMet in Turkey strengthens its Advanced Refractories presence in the EEMEA steel region.
