Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, Craftsman Automation maintains long-standing relationships with key OEMs and emphasizes just-in-time delivery from its flexible, proximate plants equipped for die casting, sand casting, heat treatment, fabrication, and assembly. Recent developments include the completion in June 2024 of the acquisition of the remaining 24% stake in DR Axion India Private Limited for INR 2.5 billion, making it a wholly owned subsidiary; the July 2024 acquisition of 100% of INOS 24-004 GmbH in Germany for EUR 57,000 to enhance European market presence and explore further asset opportunities; a June 2024 memorandum of understanding with Sunbeam Lightweighting Solutions Private Limited and Kedaara Capital Fund II LLP for a phased acquisition of its aluminium die-casting business to bolster lightweighting technologies; and the January 2025 acquisition of the residual 24% stake in DR Axion India Private Limited, alongside expansions such as a new aluminium gravity die casting foundry in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and acquisitions of Craftsman Fronberg Guss GmbH and Craftsman Germany GmbH.
