CurAegis Technologies, Inc. (CRGS) maintains no significant operations following the cessation of active business activities. The company previously developed and marketed advanced technologies in the areas of wellness, safety, and power, including fatigue management solutions through its CURA division offering Circadian User Risk Assessment products for health, fitness applications, and risk mitigation; and power and hydraulic innovations through its Aegis division encompassing advanced pump and motor designs, hydraulic testing equipment, prototypes, and related intellectual property. Founded in 1996 as Torvec, Inc. and headquartered in Rochester, New York, it rebranded to CurAegis Technologies, Inc. in June 2016 to reflect its dual-division structure targeting commercial applications in transportation, industrial, and consumer markets primarily in the United States.
In December 2020, CurAegis sold substantially all assets of its Aegis division, including intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, in exchange for potential future royalties contingent on the buyer's commercialization success, though no royalties are anticipated in the near term. The CURA division became inactive after its lead developer resigned in early 2021 amid funding shortages, halting further commercialization of fatigue management and wellness APIs. In March 2021, the company announced complete cessation of operations due to insufficient capital, followed by an involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition filed on August 4, 2021, and approved on August 31, 2021, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York, resulting in liquidation proceedings.
