Business
Central Industries PLC is a Sri Lanka-based manufacturer and distributor of piping systems, water management solutions, and electrical accessories, serving residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and agricultural markets across Sri Lanka. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Rajagiriya, Sri Lanka, the company operates as a subsidiary of Central Finance Company PLC, maintains primary manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Kerawalapitiya, Wattala, and holds Polymer Technologies (Pvt) Ltd as a subsidiary entity. The company operates primarily through two core business divisions: Water Management Products and Electrical Products. Its systematic product and service portfolio comprises unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) pressure pipes and fittings for potable water distribution under the National PVC brand; chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping systems for specialized residential and industrial applications; rainwater harvesting systems, roof gutters, downpipes, soil-waste-and-vent drainage systems, solvent cements, and ball valves under the National PVC brand; rotational-molded polyethylene water storage tanks and septic tanks marketed under the National PE brand; premium stainless steel water storage tanks under the National SS brand; plumbing taps and bathroom accessories under the Aquatec brand; rigid and flexible conduit pipes for electrical cable management under the National PVC and CILTEC brands; domestic and commercial electrical wiring devices, switches, sockets, isolators, miniature circuit breakers (MCBs), and residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs) under the Krypton brand; cellular PVC valance boards and barge boards under the Greenwood brand; and complementary industrial engineering products distributed through agency representations, including Frischhut ductile iron fittings and industrial power tools. In recent operations, Central Industries PLC has upgraded and expanded its extrusion and molding capabilities at the Kerawalapitiya manufacturing facility to boost operational efficiency and meet demand for large-diameter infrastructure piping projects. The company has extended its Krypton electrical portfolio by introducing new modular switch series and upgraded domestic circuit protection systems. Additionally, the company has strengthened its balance sheet and supply chain operations by completing settlement arrangements on state-sector receivables with the National Water Supply and Drainage Board through government treasury instruments, optimizing raw material inventory strategies, and broadening its island-wide dealer and direct institutional distribution network.
