Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the company operates as a key manufacturing subsidiary of Hayleys PLC and supplies industrial, commercial, healthcare, retail, and agricultural customers across more than 70 countries worldwide. The company operates primarily through two core business segments: Hand Protection and Plantations. Its Hand Protection segment manufactures and distributes an extensive portfolio of natural and synthetic latex-based gloves, including industrial gloves engineered for chemical resistance, cut protection, heavy mechanical handling, and general maintenance; household and janitorial gloves sold under proprietary brands such as Palmrite for domestic cleaning, maintenance, and food processing; medical examination and disposable protective gloves for healthcare and clinical environments; and specialty gloves comprising dielectric electrical safety gloves, thermal protection gloves, precision assembly gloves, and sports gloves. Its Plantations segment, operated through subsidiaries including Kelani Valley Plantations PLC and Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, cultivates, processes, and markets premium bulk, value-added, and single-estate Ceylon black and green teas, as well as industrial raw rubber grades including sole crepe, high-purity latex crepe for pharmaceutical and specialized applications, and centrifuged latex for foam and dipped goods manufacturing. Dipped Products PLC operates manufacturing plants in Sri Lanka and Thailand, complemented by international marketing and distribution subsidiaries across Europe and Asia, including ICOGUANTI S.p.A. in Italy, DPL France SAS in France, ROZENBAL POLSKA Sp. z o.o. in Poland, and regional commercial operations in India and the Middle East. In recent corporate developments, the company invested Rs. 2.3 billion in a major capacity expansion initiative at its Kottawa manufacturing complex to integrate robotic automation and expand high-value glove production capacity, completed the strategic cross-border acquisition of a rubber glove manufacturing facility in Thailand to scale international manufacturing output, expanded its direct regional marketing presence with a new office in Mumbai, India, and completed the internal corporate amalgamation of its wholly owned subsidiary D P L Premier Gloves Limited into Dipped Products PLC.
