Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC is a Sri Lanka-based beverage manufacturing and distribution company primarily engaged in the distillation, blending, bottling, marketing, and distribution of alcoholic beverages. The company operates as the flagship beverage subsidiary of Melstacorp PLC. Its core product portfolio comprises arrack, including extra special arrack, pure coconut arrack, double distilled arrack, old arrack, and molasses arrack marketed under brand names such as Extra Special, Very Special Old Pale, Old Arrack, Double Distilled, Black Gold, Blue Label, and White Diamond; gin products including Dunhill Dry Gin and Forbes Dry Gin; brandy offerings comprising Chevalier Brandy and Golden Gate Brandy; rums including Black Opal Rum and Don Carlos White Rum; vodka products marketed under the Petroff label; and malt beverages. Through an extensive island-wide distribution network and wholesale supply channels, the company supplies licensed retail outlets, supermarket chains, hotels, restaurants, and international export and duty-free channels across Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Originally founded in 1913 as the state-managed distillation authority and privatized in 1992, the company is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and operates primary production, distillation, and bottling plants across Sri Lanka, including facilities in Seeduwa, Beruwala, and Kaikawala. In recent developments, Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka expanded its operational scope by completing the acquisition of Heineken Lanka Limited from Heineken International B.V., integrating local brewing assets and securing long-term licensing rights to brew, package, and distribute international beer brands including Heineken, Tiger, Anchor, and Baron's across the Sri Lankan market. The company has also advanced operational modernization across its distillery and bottling automation lines and expanded targeted export shipments of premium aged coconut spirits to international markets.
